Bobbie Catherine Sossaman
April 1, 1940 - November 20, 2017

Bobbie Catherine Sossaman passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at the age of 77. Bobbie was born on April 1, 1940 in Mize, MS. She would meet the love of her life and in 1961 she married James Sossaman. Although they both were deaf, neither used this disability for an excuse. Together they welcomed two sons, Jeffrey and James. Mrs. Sossaman was a member of First Baptist Church of Pascagoula serving as a Sunday School teacher for the deaf ministry. She was a member and officer for Mississippi Association for the Deaf (MAD). She worked for 10 years as a Civilian Navy Employee. She loved baby-sitting, reading and watching the grandchildren play sports.

She was preceded in death her husband , James Sossaman in 2014; a son, James Keith Sossaman; her mother, Iva Welborn; two sisters, Nelda Fallin and Myran Rowland.

She is survived her son, Jeffrey Sossaman and daughter-in-law, Melanie of Pascagoula; sisters, Sandra Welborn of Jackson, MS and Genova “Ginny” Welborn Coats Scharinger of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Taylor Rabon (Chris), Jeffrey Sossaman Jr, and Annie –Rayne Sossaman; one great grandchild, Weston Rabon.

A Memorial Service honoring her life will be held at First Baptist Church in Pascagoula on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 4pm. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
