Robert Lee Thomas, Jr.  I am a Veteran.
February 4, 1958 - October 23, 2017

Robert Lee Thomas, Jr., was born in Washington, Pennsylvania, on February 4th, 1958, to Robert Lee Thomas, Sr., and Loretta Mae Thomas. Robert was the oldest of three children born to this union. He passed away from this life on October 23, 2017. Robert, graduated from Washington High School, in 1977, and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy, in the rate of Aviation Structural Mechanic-Equipment (AME). Robert Lee Thomas, Jr., took his job in the military very seriously and he was recognized for that dedication. Through his military years Robert, received the NASC Instructor Award for his civic duty. This awesome acknowledgement was awarded by the Pensacola Council of Navy League for voluntary service. AME1 Thomas, was selected as Commander Patrol Wings, Pacific Sailor of the Year in 1992. Then in 1993, he was selected as Master Training Specialist for the Schools Command. The other beautiful part of Robert’s life included his beloved wife, Verlinda “Lynn” Thomas. They met, dated, and later married in 1982, and from their love came two children, Raechell Thomas and Robert Lee Thomas, III (Monique).

Robert Lee Thomas, Jr., leaves to cherish his legacy along with his wife and children, include his loving mother, Loretta Mae Thomas, and siblings, John Thomas and Christopher Thomas. Also, other love ones include his Grand Children, Kahleea and Aneesa Muhammad, Zion and Harmoni Thomas, Nieces, Monisha Thomas, Crystal Thomas, and Michelle Thomas, Nephew, Robert Thomas, Extended family, Dr. Sandra Winborne and Shayla Winborne, along with many friends and co-workers at Lowes, Ingalls Shipyard, and the Pascagoula Police Department.


Funeral Services will be Monday, October 30, 2017 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula at 12noon with visitation one hour prior to service. Inurnment with full military honors will be at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30pm. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
